Chao Phraya River
Known as the River of the Kings, Chao Phraya River begins at the confluence of the Ping and Nan river at Nakhon Sawan Province (also called Pak Nam Pho). The 372 km long river flows from north to south passing several historic cities such as Ayutthaya, Uthai Thani, Ang Thong and Bangkok. The river has been a lifeline of Thai famers for centuries. It was once Thailand’s gateway to the world welcoming foreign traders from France, Japan, Portugal, China and Holland. The remnants of foreign culture can still be seen in buildings, churches and temples along the river.
