Thailand/ Cambodia/Malaysia trip. You have organised our trip from Bangkok to Siem Reap and back. I do not usually write for services I paid for! But this time I feel the urge to express our gratitude for a very smooth and perfectly professional organisation. The guide who accompanied us in Siem Reap..." |

Siem
Reap, Cambodia
Located in Siem Reap, the Tonle Sap is the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia, covering 27,000 hectares in dry season (November to May) and 150,000 hectares during the rainy season (June to October). The River reverses according to the season and the Tonle Sap acts as an overflow reservoir for the huge Mekong River. It is a tranquil place to explore by boat and visitors to the area shouldn’t miss the opportunity to do so. The river is vital to Cambodia’s already tenuous survival as it produces 100,000 tons of fish every year – an incredible 80% of the population’s protein intake.

Siem
Reap is a small colonial town just north of
Southeast Asia’s largest lake, Tonle Sap. The town
itself is charming and pleasant enough to roam
around, with some fine examples of French colonial
architecture though modern developments, mostly in
the form of hotels, has been swift here in recent
years since the slow demise of the Khmer Rouge. Now
that the town is safe again, visitors have been
flocking in, using it as a base for visits to nearby
Angkor ruins.
