Created and directed by Senator Goffredo Bettini in collaboration with the Italian Embassy in Thailand and organized, the festival aims to promote the cultural and commercial aspects of the new Italian production, particularly in the growing Asian market and Thai culture in Italy.
The Bangkok government is confident that the BTS’s extended route for the Onnuch-Baring section will open for service on August 12.
The route was inspected last week by Bangkok Governor Sukhumbhand Paribatra who said service on the expanded line will be free until January 1, 2012.

In the past, the scorpion-tailed boat was used to ferry passengers from one bank to the another, and carried small freight between farm and city. It got its name because its prow and sternpost are made pointing skywards.
Khom Loy is a Thai word signifying the floating lantern, which is a balloon made from a light bamboo frame covered with mulberry paper. It floats by means of hot air heated by a flaming torch attached inside the balloon. It can be seen in auspicious events, particularly during the water festival of Loy Krathong.
