It is generally know that the best place for souvenir shopping in Siem Reap is located at the Old Market or Phsar Market. The market is located on Pokombor Avenue along the Siem Reap River in the southern part of the town.

The old market offers a myriad of handicraft products from silk cloths and paintings to wood carved statues and home decors items at bargain prices. For local feel, travelers can walk around the northern section of the market that caters to the locals who look for fresh food and vegetable.

The market is surrounded by pubs, restaurants and small galleries that sell good quality artistic items such as paintings, photographs, sculptures, jewelry, textile and reproduction of Khmer style statues. Recommended galleries and boutiques around Phsar Market are Angkor Shopping Center, Artisans D’ Angkor, Asasax Art Gallery, Asia Craft Centre (ACC), Carnets d’Asia, Couleurs d’Asia, FCC boutique, Hegar Design, Kokoon, McDermott Gallery, the Crocodile Collection and the Art House.

Phsar market opens early in the morning and closes at sunset. However, its southern part stays open until 8 pm.
