Waterfalls in Samui

Na Muang Waterfall, Samui

Na Muang Waterfall, Samui

One of Koh Samui’s three waterfalls, Namtok Hin Lard is a popular attraction on the island, visited by local folks and tourists alike. Water from the stream that runs down a small cliff some 30 meters high is shallow and good for swimming. Visitors can also walk to the upper tier of the waterfall and relax in the midst of nature. The best time to visit Namtok Hin Lard is between December and January.

Tucked in a forest west of Na thon Beach is Na Muang 1 Waterfall. Its rushing waters cascade down a steep cliff and into a large pond below, which is ideal for swimming. During times of heavy rains, huge volumes of water swell the waterfall creating an impressive sight in an environment of lush and fertile forestland.

Access to Na Muang 2 Waterfall is 100 meters further on from Na Muang 1 Waterfall. A quite extensive waterfall, it is in an area more isolated than the other two falls and less popular because of the 15-minute walk it takes to reach it. But for those who love to be in the peaceful surroundings of nature, and enjoy trekking, Na Muang 2 Waterfall is starkly beautiful and well worth the walk.
